Business Leader Promotes Flexible Work
Mums and dads looking to spend more valuable time at home with the kids via flexible working could end up performing their job better.
At least that is the view of the Chartered Management Institute which has claimed that bosses should be more receptive to the desires of their employees to work such flexible hours as a result.
Chief executive of the institute Ruth Spellman explained: “Flexible working can have a significant impact on employee motivation, engagement, productivity and overall performance, and managers play a central role in the successful introduction of such working practices.”
She added that as such, the right to request flexible working should be available to all employees.
This comes after a recent report composed by the Centre for Policy Studies cited a YouGov survey which revealed that only 12 per cent of UK mothers want to work full time, while 31 per cent do not want to work at all.
